Dr Mary Gunn’s new book is now available.

In this new book, ‘Handshake’ (Amazon), she sets out the story of her life and explains how her approach to living has been transformed and enhanced by Buddhist teaching, and most notably ‘Handshake practice’ – meeting life in openness. This has resulted in a much more relaxed way of being, inclusive of all that life presents.

This follows on from her first book, ‘Well’ (Saraband Press) where she writes of her journey through cancer and what she learnt.

I met Mary at a beautiful meditation retreat in Wales with Rupert Spira in 2017 and our love for poetry and medicine formed out bond. She remained an inspiration to me, encouraging me to explore parts of myself within and beyond medicine. And for those who knew her well, her zest for life and humour was infective.

Mary passed away in April 2022, and was involved in the putting together of this book – she was especially pleased with the inclusion of the hand-drawn images in the book, some by her and some by her friend. Mary – you are both missed and also here. x
